Are You Who You Think You Are?

You're not who you think you are.

Imagine your soul needs to get to an evolutionary destination in a neighborhood it's unfamiliar with. You don't know what waits for you at this evolutionary destination. It's not relevant. The process of getting to that destination is what this phase of your evolution is all about.

While your soul knows where it wants to go, you don't. Your soul is a backseat driver sending you tons of intuitions pertaining to directions, but you only get some of them.

On top of that, the vehicle your soul has chosen for you is broken down. You think of it as your body. It's hardly yours at all.

I'm sure you've heard your body is made up of mostly water, which is true. In addition to water, billions of cells go into the creation and expiration of your body. What you may not know is that more than half of these billion cells are not human at all. They are viruses, bacteria, diseases, and more. Basically, they are all parasites that contribute to your eventual expiration.

Think of it like this. You call a taxi to get to the other side of town. Do you care how fancy, clean, or mechanically well-conditioned the taxi is? No, you're only going to be in it for a short time.

Your soul thinks of your body in the way. Getting to this next evolutional stop is just one of the billions (or some unmeasurable unit of quantity) of stops your soul will make along its evolutionary journey. Your soul didn't put much thought into a quality vehicle.

On top of that, your vehicle travels through a new environment. We think of where we live now as home. It's not. It's more like a restaurant. Everything in this environment you are traveling through has something that will eat it, including the cells that make up your body. Everything that is alive will eventually be eaten and used to create the next generation of environment for souls who will travel through here after you.

Let's not minimize the essential importance of your existence here. Your only purpose is to deliver your soul to its next destination. While your soul may give you hints, it is by design that you can't easily communicate with your soul. You are the taxi driver, and you own the taxi. You pick the direction, and you make all the decisions.

You do have to co-exist with millions of other taxi drivers, including those that make up your family, friends, coworkers, neighbors, etc. A "short drive across town" to our soul is a lifetime to us.

I'm sure everyone has had to peel a hard-boiled egg. It is rarely an easy task. The shell pieces often stick to the egg, making it impossible to get a clean peel. If the egg pieces do come off, it is often a time-consuming process with little enjoyment.
