Thoughts from the Light Blog by Jordan Canon Spiritual Advisor

Thoughts from the light is a blog designed to interpret general spiritual understandings into real-world applications. Sometimes, we find it difficult to see what is right under our nose. Hopefully, we can learn to improve this skill, as it is critical to the timely manner in which we evolve our souls.
Here, "spiritual" means to look within, and I do that by taking generally applied practices and sharing with you a different point of view for your consideration.

Knowing a little something about blurred boundary lines between the living and the dead and contact with wandering spirits, I thought it would be appropriate to share the history and spiritual meaning of Halloween and what you can do to participate with your "soul cakes" to create positive spiritual intentions.

Before I was a master of the deadly sins, I was a master of the deadly sins. That's not a typo. In typical Yin Yang fashion, the deadly sin pendulum swung as far as it could from one direction to another. To me, identifying when temptation is trying to take you from the path of the light is essential to harnessing their counter energies. Those counter energies are called virtues.

Let's not minimize the essential importance of your existence here. Your only purpose is to deliver your soul to its next destination. While your soul may give you hints, it is by design that you can't easily communicate with your soul. You are the taxi driver, and you own the taxi. You pick the direction, and you make all the decisions.
